B&B Matakana

activities on THE MATAKANA COAST
From visiting the famous Matakana Farmers markets, exploring Matakana's beautiful beaches and regional parks, to action-packed water sport activities, there is something for everyone to do on the Matakana Coast!

The closest beach to our glamping location is the white sand beach of Omaha, which is easily reached within a 10 minute drive from Tepee. A little further along is Goat Island, New Zealand's first marine reserve, and Pakiri beach where you can explore the beach on horse back. Another great beach is Anchor bay, which is part of Tawharanui regional park. At Tawharanui, we highly recommend walking the Ecology trail. Tawharanui is a bird sanctuary, and kiwi spotting tours can be booked with Kiwiness tours.

Blue Adventures offers kitesurfing, wakeboarding and SUP lessons on the Matakana Coast. Free accommodation is offered as part of Blue Adventures' watersport camps.

You can rent a surf or paddle board from the Omaha Surf & Supply Co. at the Omaha estuary, 329 Omaha Flats Road, Omaha.

Omaha beach, Tawharanui and Pakiri are great surf beaches.

The famous Matakana Farmers Markets take place every Saturday from 8 am-1 pm.

The Matakana wine country is famous for it's fabulous vineyards and breweries. A must visit is Brick Bay and the Sawmill Brewery.

Brick Bay is located at Snells beach, a 15 minute drive from our glamping accommodation. Brick Bay is famous for their Pinot Gris, Rose and Red blends. We recommend Brick Bay's wine tastings, food platters and visiting their sculpture trail.

The Sawmill Brewery, is a mere 2 km from Tepee and highly recommended. Their craft beers are excellent and the Smoko Room restaurant offers a great atmosphere and fantastic food.

If you would like to join a yoga or pilates class, we recommend you check out The Space in Matakana. For massages we can highly recommend Divinely Feminine.

How about a movie at the boutique Matakana cinemas, a glass of wine at the Vintry wine bar, a beer at the Samill craft brewery or a gig at the Leigh Sawmill cafe?
